Liebster award!

I was nominated for the famous liebster award by http://diamondsanddaydreamsxo.blogspot.co.uk/ for those of you who don't know, the liebster award is where you get nominated by another blogger if they think your blog is good, but it's only for people who have 200 followers and less.  It was created to open people's eyes to new blogs and bring the smaller blogs out into the open!

Questions:
1. Who is your style icon?
Taylor swift! Taylor is a huge inspiration to me and her clothes are beautiful! Her hair is always shiny and her curls (when she doesn't straighten them) are always so defined and clear. She is just simply beautiful.
2. What is one make-up product you couldn't live without?
I think most girls would agree with me that you just can't live without mascara, especially if you have blond eyelashes like me! I think that it just brings a persons face to
Iife and makes them look more awake.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
Hard one. I think my favourite place to live is where I am now. In a small village in a little cottage with roses round the front door and acres and acres of land. But maybe that's a bit boring? If I didn't live there I would live by the sea somewhere like Australia!
4. What is your favourite skincare product?
Clean and clear morning energy skin brightening daily facial scrub - being a teenager I get a lot of spots and so I use this to reduce them and give me a brighter face in the mornings.
5. Favourite band/singer?
Again, Taylor Swift. As I said she is a huge inspiration and her songs just describe my whole life and I can relate to them in so many ways! I've seen her live once and I was four rows from the stage, she was literally right there - I could practically touch her! It was the most amazing experience I have ever had in my whole life! My favourite band has got to be scouting for girls, they are a group that I have listened to my whole life and their songs bring back thousands of memories, I have seen them live twice!
6. Favourite quote?
We should love, not fall in love because everything that falls gets broken - Taylor Swift
7. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
If I could survive off it I would have the cadburys marvelous creations - the one with the jelly beans - because it has chocolate, jelly beans and popping candy in which are my favourite foods ever!
8. Any fashion distasters?
I went to a non-school uniform day wearing purple tights and trunslucent neon, rainbow stripy socks and it didn't go down well.
9. Favourite film?
Pretty woman - best film I have ever seen in my whole life! Closely followed by 'the devil wears Prada'

My nominations:

7 deadly sins tag!

1. GREED - What is your most inexpensive beauty product?

This nail polish is about the size of my thumb (it's tiny) and it's soooo cute! I got it free with a magazine and it's from Barry M so I was like "bargain!!" I absoloutely love the almost burgundy shade and I wear it all the time!

What is your most expensive?

Taylor by Taylor swift is probably my most expensive beauty product - it's £25 which thinking about it, it isn't that expensive. I love the scent of this perfume - it's quite woody and spicy but sweet at the same time (I am awful at defining smells)

2.
WRATH - What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I adore the apocolips lip lacquer by Rimmel but it has an awful smell which stops me from using it.  It's very pigmented and the colour lasts a very long time (take a look at my review of this product)

3. GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty products?

This lip balm has THE MOST gorgeous smell EVER! It smells like fresh raspberries or raspberry yoghurt and is so nice on your lips, it is beautiful! It's by Nivea and is called Rasperry Rose.

4. SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

This is a beautiful pastel eyeshadow palette by Claire's that I got 2-3 years ago.  Truth is, I should probably chuck it because it's so old but I adore the colours! I never really use it much anymore though because it's I the bottom draw of my makeup box and I don't go down there much, but this really is extreme laziness because the bottom of my draws is hardly out of reach the draws all together come to about 30cm, so you see my point! I also spilt blue nail varnish on it a year after I bought it (2 years ago) and I still can't be bothered to take it off with nail polish remover!!!

5. PRIDE - What beauty product gives you more confidence?

I think that most girls will agree that mascara has the power to make you feel like you are the most confident, beautiful person in the world! It makes your face look more alive, especially if you have blond eyelashes like me, and more awake, like your eyes are listening. It is just amazing. Above is the they're real mascara by benefit. I love this mascara, the one in the picture is my mum's and I have a miniature one somewhere but I can't find it (aaahhh!)

6.
LUST - What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Nothing. I have no interest in boys whatsoever.
7. ENVY - What item would you most like to receive as a gift?

At the top of my birthday list is the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. I went to the Urban Decay counter the other day in house of Fraser and I was practically drooling over it (not literally, lol!) it is absoloutely gorgeous and if I chose the right shades I could wear it to school as well. My favourite shades are buzz, dust and trick! What are yours? X

No makeup!

Hey guys

I have decided to give up makeup for lent! That's next Wednesday till Easter Friday which is a VERY long time.  Obviously I am allowed to wear it for tutorials etc or parties but I am only going to wear clear lip balm and a little bit of mascara on normal days which is hardly any.  It's taking me a lot of courage to do this so your support would mean so much!

How to: Foundation, concealer, blusher, bronzer

Hey guys!

So today I'm going to do a detailed tutorial (as such) on how I do my base I.e. Foundation, concealer, blusher and bronzer.

A) Foundation
Step 1) Take your foundation/BB cream/tinted moisturizer and squeeze about the size of two peas onto the back of your hand.

Step 2) dip your finger into it and then dab it on your face in the main areas: chin, both cheeks, forehead, under eyes. You will still have foundation on your hand so dip in again and just fill in the spaces until it's all gone.  You will look like you have very large, cream coloured spots all over your face.

Step 3) take the brush you use for foundation (I reccomend I flat ended brush) and brush all over your face in circular motions.  This just blends it all together so that the spots aren't there anymore.

Step 4) then take your fingers and blend together even more. Go around your nose, underneath your nose, around the hair line, jawline and your neck because you will look like an idiot if you don't. Brown face, white neck? Not good.

B) Concealer

Step 5) now get your concealer.  I reccomend a liquid concealer e.g. Wake me up by Rimmel or the lasting perfection concealer by collection.

Under eyes

Step 6) draw an upside down triangle underneath each eye using the concealer. Go from each corner downwards. Make sure it covers the whole under eye area.

Step 7) draw a horizontal line through the middle of each triangle

Step 8) get your index finger and pat the triangle, try and pat it inwards if that makes sense.

Step 9) keep patting until it's all blended in

Spots etc

Step 10) put a very small dot on top of any spots or areas that you would like to cover up.  Get your index finger again and pat lightly on each of these dots.  Don't rub because you will just smudge it and not achieve anything but a mess on your face

C) Blusher

Step 11) get your blusher (I reccomend sleek for great blusher - £4.49) and the brush that you use for blusher.  Dab it, not drag it as you don't want it to look really heavy and fake, and smile. The applease of your cheeks will now show really obviously. Brush in circular motions on the apples until you are happy with the colour, keep layering.

Step 12) keep smiling and brush up the cheekbones so that it looks like you have a nice and healthy glow.

D) Bronzer

Step 13) the final steps are the steps of the bronzer.  Get your bronzer (I reccomend bourjois) and the brush you use for bronzer (i feel like I am saying that a lot, lolz) and get a small amount on your brush.  Pout. You will see a line going down from above the top of your ear to the corner of your lip, get your brush and brush up down this line using circular motions, go to about half way.  This just adds definition to your face

Step 14) you can also go under your eyes if you want to depending on the bronzer that your have.

So there you have it! A guide to the base! If you would like more like this, comment below and give me ideas! Your opinions mean everything to me!!!

What I'm wearing today + about Lookbook

Jumper - Divided at H&M (Henz and Mauritz in America)
Leggings - Generation at New Look (£7.99)
Grey frilly socks - Topshop

Above is a picture of what i am wearing today!  It's a very simple outfit - Leggins, a jumper and frilly socks but effective all the same.  Now, i should image that you are wondering why i am posting this. Well, i have been thinking about doing one of these posts per week to let you know what i'm wearing and to give fashion inspiration to you.  What do you think? Do you think i should?

The reason i can only do it once a week is because i have school on weekdays and a picture of my uniform everyday really isn't that interesting and on Sunday's i normally just wear PJs.

Lookbook:

Lookbook is a fashion site which i absolutely adore!  It has loooaaaads of different rules which help keep the site spam free and easy for everybody to use i.e. u can only post a new look every 6 hours to keep the lookbook timeline free of just you,  you can only post pictures of yourself, you can only post a look from head to knees of shoulders to feet, you can do collage posts but only up to 3 photos. But it is an amazing site, and because it's not cramped with people, you get a lot more 'hypes' and comments and it's easier to interact with people. i have 9 fans and the moment and something like 88 karma. It's such a fantastic fashion site, i really recommend it - go join and fan me!

Taylor Swift concert - 10/02/2014

Last week i went to Taylor's fourth RED concert in London and i think that it was quite literally the best day of my life.  Even my dad said it was one of the best concerts he's ever been to.  We were 3 or 4 rows from the stage (OMG) and i think i nearly fainted.  When Taylor first came on stage i burst into tears and carried on crying for about 20 minutes, if not more!  Below are some pictures that we took of the concert.

Her outfits are soooooo beautiful!  My favourite is the dress from treacherous,  it makes her look like a ballerina and the netting is just so gorgeous, makes her look weightless!

I literally don't know how she kept on dancing consistently for 2 hours.  She is quite amazing.  My mum's view of Taylor has gone up by loads and mine might have gone up a little, but i don't think it could have gone up much more because in my eyes she is pretty close to a literal angel.

In the restaurant beforehand

Nanny's makeover - how to

Colour unlimited (super drug) brushes used in this post

Step 1) BB Cream - get the large brush (with the flatter end) and put it on the table. Get your BB cream/foundation and squeeze the size of two peas on to your hand.  Get your index finger and dab it into a little bit of what is on your hand.  Dab into spots all over your face - start from the bottom and work your way upwards.  If you havnt enough for your forehead, squeeze a little extra onto your hand.  Then pick up the brush and brush in circular motions all over your face until all spaces are covered, don't forget your jawline and neck.  When it is evenly spread, get your bare fingers and run it in so that there are no places on your face that are too dark, too light or too patchy.  Make sure you get into the hairline.

Step 2) concealer - next get your concealer. For under your eyes, draw on upside down triangles from both corners down so that they meet in a triangle.  Then put a horizontal line across the middle of the triangle. Get your index finger and pat in an inwards direction till it is all rubbed in.  Put a small spot of concealer on any any spots or normal spots (zits). Just pat on it till blended.

Step 3) Blusher - get your blusher and the brush with the slanted end.  Tap it into the blusher as you don't want it to look very heavy.  Smile and glide the brush over your cheek bones, focusing on the apples of your cheeks.

Step 4) Bronzer - get your slanted end brush and pout. Dip it into the bronzer and, using circular motions, glide it across the shadowed area.  Also put a small amount under eyes.

Step 5) Eyeshadow - use the smallest large brush (or the largest small brush depending on how you want to see it).  Get the lightest colour (use your index finger for this as it is a cream based eyeshadow, just the lightest one) and spread it ALL OVER the lower lid till just above the eye crease.  Then get the lightest blue/purple and spread from the inner corner of the eye to half way.  Get the darker colour and put this in your crease and the other half of the eye.  Get the slanted end brush and blend until the colour is how you want it.

6) Eyeliner - get your grey eyeliner and close one eye, pull it tight and apply from the outer corner inwards to half way.  Do the same underneath but look up to make it easier.

7)  Mascara - get your mascara and separate all lashes.  Then apply mascara the best you can.  For thicker eyelashes put translucent powder on between each layer.

8) get your lipgloss/balm and apply on lips

9) get your eyebrow kit and the small slanted end brush. Fill in from the middle of the brow to the end with the darker colour.  Then fill in the middle to the inner end. Brush upwards at the inner ends then get the lighter colour and fill in lightly over the top.

I really hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it.  Please comment what you thought and follow this blog, it would mean a lot ;)

Rimmel apocalips lip lacquer review

If you are in love with makeup and beauty there is no doubt that you have heard of this amazing new lip product from Rimmel and you are probably sick of hearing about it but I am going to do a review even though it's a bit late.  My friend Jasmine (Popprincessjaz on youtube) recommended this to me actually and I'm so glad she did :)

I absoloute love the packaging on this product.  It has quite a simple and standard bottle, it's black at the top and the colour fades out to clear at the bottom so that you can see the colour of the product.  But I love the lid!  It's kind of a gemstone and plain black, I really don't know a better way to describe it.  It just gives the bottle that 'something' that people look for when looking for a new lipgloss.

The weirdest part of this product is definitely the smell.  It has a foul smell but luckily it only lasts a little while.  People have different ideas if what it could smell like i.e. Boiled sweets, warm rhubarb crumble, heated metal and I think that if you mix all these, that would be the smell. It's really not very nice, although some people claim to like it.

I think that there are 8 different colours and they are all very highly pigmented (this is probably the best part of the product) the shades which are paler (the nudes) aren't quite as pigmented though.  The brighter colours however are sooo pigmented and stay for hours!  Their also don't stain your lips like a lot of lip products do which is a huge plus!

I find that these lip lacquers DO have excellent durability! Obviously, if you eat, the colour wears and comes off, which is to be expected with drugstore, but you only have to reapply it once.  They really do last a very long time!

They have excellent application techniques as well! It's a basic applicator but it has a dip in the middle which holds the product so that you don't have to keep dipping it into the bottle to get more.  It does require a little technique to apply as it doesn't go on smooth and even straight away.  Something really good is that it definitely isn't sticky at all and feels nice on your lips, soft.

I would give this product a 3 1/2 out of 5 as it has a few downfalls like the smell but overall, it's very good.  I will definitely be buying some again as they really are wonderful!  I really do recommend them!

What's in my nail varnish bag?

My nail varnish collection is really big and here are just a few of my favourites.

My top five blogs!

I think everyone has there own favourite blogs and I am no exception.  Below, I have included my top five blogs and I know that I am not the only person who adores these blogs and pours over their pages constantly. If anybody would like me to do the same thing for smaller scale blogs, comment below and I will follow your blog as well x

1: Zoella - Zoe Sugg is my favourite youtuber and her blog has the most beautiful layout and her posts are full of relevant and wonderful content that i just love to read!  She is probably the biggest female, English youtube beauty sensation and I just love her cute style!

2: Something Swanky - This isn't a makeup related blog but it has really detailed how-to posts on how to create backgrounds, headers etc for your blog using Pic Monkey

3: Tanya Burr - I absolutely love Tanya's blog because it's a lot more personal and about her but it includes really good reviews on makeup that i hadn't thought to look at.

4: Fleur de force - Now my best friend Caz (she is in a lot of my youtube videos) recommend this blog to me and i am solo glad she did because Fleur's blog us just amazing! it has a very sophisticated, simplistic layout and the content is relevant and i just want to continue reading forever!

5: Make Me Up - This was the first ever blog that i looked at when i was nine years old and i have always loved it.  It's run by a girl named Kia and she draws pictures of makeup using makeup.  Obviously, she does reviews like every other makeup blogger and the layout of hers, again, is quite simplistic and cute.
