New Look haul + Mother's Day 2014

Hello everyone!

I apologise, I havnt posted in about a week, I'm really sorry - I've been so busy I just haven't had time!

As we all know, yesterday was Mothering Sunday and I spent it wit my Mum and my Nan. We went to Bury St Edmunds and had a lot of fun!

First we went shopping and as I have my holiday in 7 and a half weeks we decided to get me some new beach clothes! It took us quite a while to find anything that I liked but when we went to New Look everything changed! I found myself pulling multiple items off the racks until I had loads of shorts, crop tops, bikinis, dresses and shawls in my hands as well as huge sunglasses! Obviously I didn't buy everything but I did buy quite a lot!

This is a beautiful black bikini with white elephants on, well - I think it's elephants. Put has two layers of frills on the top of the bikini top and a strap that goes around the neck.

This is another really cute bikini that I bought, they are electric blue and there is a hole in the middle of the bikini top which I think looks really cute! It also has a strap which goes round the back of the neck. There was also an orange/Coral one exactly the same but we decided to leave it for another day.
These shorts are absoloutely gorgeous! Thee colour fades in the middle of each short (?) and there is also a beautiful lace type pattern on either side that I thought was just beautiful!
I fell in love with this shawl as soon as I saw it. It has arms that go about 1/4 of the way down my arm and the shawl itself reaches just above my thigh, maybe a bit lower. It has beautiful red and pink roses on it - it's a sheer kind of black and it feels so beautiful. It's light - very light and it just floats, it's beautiful!

I also loved this as soon as I saw it!  It's a crop top and it hangs just over my belly button. It's a bright white (I don't actually own that many white clothes!) and it has tiny little flowers on the flowers on the top of the top.
This dress is gorgeous! It's sleeveless, plain black and it almost reaches the floor! It looks stunning if I do say so myself and, again, it feels weightless and soft on my skin. It's the sort of dress you never want to take off!
In total, it cost me (my mum, lol!) £72.34! That's quite a lot of money! But it was worth it, don't you think?

After we had been shopping we decided to let my nan in on the surprise, the surprise being that we going to Harriet's Cafe Tearooms for afternoon tea! It really was as fun as it sounds!
This is the stand that we had, on the bottom there are sandwiches: salmon, cucumber and cheese and chicken. My favourite was the chicken, I didn't like the salmon - raw fish, eurgh! On the second layer there were scones with clotted cream and jam. As I don't like cream, I just had the jam and they were lovely! On the top layer was our deserts: chocolate cheesecake, lemon cheesecake, an orange profiterole, a strawberry, bitter chocolate tart and a fruit tart.
These are my mum's deserts - fruit tart and lemon cheesecake. I tried the lemon cheesecake and it was absoloutely delicious!
These are the cakes I made my mum for Mother's Day, they are chocolate cupcakes with marshmallows!

Ingredients:
For the cakes:
100g self raising flour
20g cocoa powder (Cadbury bournville is best)
140g caster sugar
40g unsalted butter
120ml whole milk
1 egg
12-hole cupake tray, lines with paper cases
For the buttercream:
50g dark chocolate
100g unsalted butter
200g icing sugar

BBC good food:

Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 170C(325F)Gas 3
    2. Out the flour ,cocoa powder, sugar and butter in a free standing electric mixer with paddle attachment (or use a handheld electric whisk)and beat on a slow speed until you get a sandy and everything is combined.
    3. Whisk the milk and egg together in a jug ,then slowly pour about half into the flour mixture, beat to combine and turn the mixer up to high speed (scrape any unmixed ingredients from the side of the bowl with a rubber spatula).Continue mixing for a couple more minutes until the mixture is smooth.Do not over mix.
    4. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until two-thirds full and bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes,or until the sponge bounces back when touched.A skewer inserted in the center should come out clean.Leave the cupcakes to coll slightly in the tray before turning out onto a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
    5. when the cupcakes are cooled, spread the frosting* on with a pallet knife , or squeeze in with a piping bag and decorate with chocolate vermicelli or silver balls. Vanilla and Cream cheese frosting also works well if your not a chocolate lover

*Method (buttercream):
  1. Melt the chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water. (Do not allow the base of the bowl to touch the surface of the water.) Allow to cool until the chocolate no longer feels hot to the touch.
  2. Beat the butter in a bowl until soft, then gradually beat in the icing sugar. Add the vanilla extract and beat again.
  3. Fold in the melted chocolate until completely incorporated (add a few drops of milk if the mixture is a little stiff).
  4. This icing can be kept in the fridge for a few days. Bring to room temperature and beat again until smooth before icing your cake.

I really hope you enjoyed this - how was your Mother's Day? Leave a link to any blogposts below in the comments section, I look at every one!

Mother's Day gift ideas

Hey everyone!

Mother's Day is coming up so I thought I would give you some advice about buying gifts for your mum or nan or aunty, great grandma or sister!

Yankee candles are always a huge hit with mums, I think the rose one is lovely - it reminds me of my childhood - I also think it would look good in a Nan's house, I just feel like rose is a nan thing, don't you? All of the Yankee candle smells are absoloutely wonderful and I definitely reccomend them to anyone. The one downside is the fact that they are a little pricey, but they're easy to find, they're pretty much everywhere!

Another big one with mums is pandora beads, above are a few of my favourites from the Mother's Day collection. Again, they do happen to be quite expensive but I do think that they're worth it! The beads range from about £15 - £65.  I think they are all beautiful but not much use without the bracelet so if she doesn't have the bracelet I would reccomend just getting that.

Every mum loves a designer lipstick and I think this one ^ is PERFECT for mums! It's a little bit pricey but it's absoloutely gorgeous! Yves Saint Lauren is a designer and the lipsticks feel, smell and look beautiful! Your mum just has to appreciate it!

Hope this gave you some inspiration, but to be honest it doesn't have to be expensive, buy dupes if you want - it's the thought that counts!

How to: messy bun

1) start by brushing your hair into a very high pony tail and tie it with an ordinary hair band/bobble
2) Get the ponytail and lightly twist it and wrap it around the bobble. Secure that with a bobble - you don't have to be neat with it
3) Your hair should be very tight and not messy at all at this point so what your going to do is pull the front section and sides and back to give it a bit more volume.
4) pull out tiny little sections right above the ears to shape your face
5) Pin down any flyaways and shape it using the pins so that it's in the middle
6) Pull at the bun so that it's bigger and more messy
7) Add a decoration if you want e.g. A Dougnut decoration

Hope you enjoyed this post! I used Zoella's tutorial to achieve this look!

What I'm wearing today 4

Hi guys!

California jumper - primark - £12
Skater skirt - New Look - Around £7

Coral bikini top - primark - £6
Velvet skater skirt - New Look

I like to think I look like Alex Kingston (River Song) with my hair like this!
Sky blue dress - Topshop - £33
Bracelet - Hollister - around £15
Shoes - m&co - £8

Hello everyone! I went shopping with my friends today and I bought three items of clothing. I was looking for items of clothing for my holiday in May in the carribean!

I got a beautiful sky blue dress that cost me £33 and I am in love! It's floaty and very light - perfect for evenings - although knowing me I'll spill food down it! - it's beautiful! I love the curve on the skirt, I think the dress makes me look adult but not in a childish way like a lot of adult clothes look on teens.  I love the bodice of the dress, I love the way it sort of drapes downwards and just hangs. I love the creases - infact I love everything about this dress! The length is perfect as well!

I also bought a black + Aztec floaty jumpsuit from primark that was £7 - it's perfect for my holiday in the carribean (Only 9 weeks!) because it's very floaty - it almost looks like a dress.

Also from primark, I bought a very pink coral bikini top, but you could easy wear it as a normal cropped sort of top.  It goes perfectly with my velvet skater skirt and my little heels. I think it enhances my figure as it's also padded - I love it!

I bought these shoes a week ago before i went to my other friends party and I think they go perfectly with my buys!

I made the top outfit one day after school when I wanted to make a youtube video and didn't want to wear my uniform. I put on my pastel yellow California jumper from Primark and tucked it into my skater skirt from New Look and I realised how sophisticated it looked! Sometimes you just have to experiment!

Saturday bath xxx

Today I had the most beautiful bath! The bath bomb turned my water bright blue, it was amazing!

I don't think that there is anything more relaxing that a nice, long bath! I must have spent 30 minutes in the bath today just relaxing! I love feeling clean, having smooth skin and smelling wonderful! It's nice to pamper yourself! Don't you think?
When is finished I put my hair in rollers ready for Connie's shopping party tomorrow and I'm listening to Katy perry 'one of the boys'

Herbal essences intensive care hair mask + clean and clear morning energy daily facial scrub

I put the hair mask on after conditioner and you just leave it on for ten minutes while you shave your legs or whatever and then you rinse it off and leaves your hair feeling silkily smooth! Oh, and it smells DELICIOUS!

The scrub is sort of self-explanatory, you just rub it onto a face and it scrubs off any dead skin cells or dirt and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft!
Herbal essences ignite my colour shampoo+conditioner

These smell absoloutely amazing!  They have extracts of Moroccan Rose in and it almost gives you shivers of excitement!  I don't dye my hair but it does good for split ends.

Thankyou for reading!

How to create a blog background using pic monkey

Hey guys!

I had a lightbulb and i thought i would give you a detailed demonstration of how to create a blog background on pic monkey!

1) Go to Pic Monkey and hover over design. click custom. It needs to be around 2000px x 1300px

2) Click on the butterfly and go to geometric. Click the rectangle

3) Make the rectangle the colour you want your blog to be, i want mine to be white but I've made it pink so that you can see it better.  The image needs to have a white rectangle merged sothat it becomes part of i even though its already white because it comes out grey on the blog. I would merge all background colours because it's easier to manage .

4) Add whatever decorations you like - here are a few I've created

5) When you have done that click save and name your background blog background 1 or 2 or whatever. Save it as a png because 1 - it isn't as many pixels 2 - its better quality. Then click save to m computer

6) Then click template

7) then click "customise"
8) then click "background" then "upload image" and then "choose file". Then obviously choose your background and click "done"

And then your done!

My daily skin care routine

Hello everyone!

Today I'm going to share my daily skin care routine! I do this at around 9:00pm before I go to bed

Morning:
1) I wash my face using clean and clear daily facial wash with lemon and papaya extracts, I make sure I get around my nose, under my eyes and the chin because I used to always miss them out and get greasy there!
2) I then scrub my face using the clean and clear facial scrub with lemon and papaya extracts, this makes me feel very awake and really clean! It also helps to get rid of spurs because it scrubs at them, which is good.

3) I then moisturise my face using a simple moisturiser. I don't bother too much with this in the morning because I really focus on it at night and there isn't much point, so in the morning I apply it as if it were my foundation.

Evening
1) I take off my makeup using tea tree makeup wipes. Tea tree is very good for the skin! This take about five minutes. You don't have to be overly thorough, it just gets off the basic, obvious layers. The cleaner and toner does the rest.

2) I then get my fresh essentials cleanser and toner from Garnier and rub them onto my skin using makeup remover pad or pads. Cleanser removes any left over makeup and can work as a makeup remover but I think it's always to to over your face with a makeup wipe first to get rid of the majority of the makeup.  Toner is there to get rid of any left over cleanser and any dirt that the cleanser missed. They are essential and keep your face clean and smooth. My friends mum has been cleansing, toning and moisturising since she was 14 years old and I have to say that her skin is absoloutely flawless!

3) I then get my moisturiser from simple and rub it into my face. I always focus under my eyes because I have very dark circles and I hope that this will improve them over time. Just apply it as if it were foundation, take as much care. Don't just slap it on, a beautiful face without makeup is more beautiful than a beautiful face with makeup.
4) I then massage moisturiser into my elbows and into my legs, ankles and knees to keep them smooth. Also my chest, right beneath my neck because it gets very dry.
5) On Saturdays and Sundays I have a bath before hand with a bathbomb, usually from lush and obviously wash using the previously mentioned scrub and wash from clean and clear
6) if I have a bad spot I will apply a small amount of strong spot cream morning and night to slowly get rid of it

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, if you like what you see click join this site!!!

What I'm wearing today 3

Pink sequinned crop top - New look - around £17
Black leather-look disco pants - New Look
Gold studded black heels - M&Co - £8 in the sale

I go to m&co quite a lot as I love the store and there is one in attleborough which is where my nan lives and is only 7 miles from where I live.  I must own about 20 pieces of clothing from there because I love it that much! I have only recently discovered the shoes that they have because I've only ever shopped in the Kylie section (9-13 years), which - by the way - is amazing! Their clothes are so trendy, cool and very mainstream. It's good because it focuses on teenager fashion, unlike a lot of kids brands who have very childish clothes for 11 year olds+ even though we only want the modern cool and trendy clothes and that's what Kylie gives! Anyway, back to the shoes, the shoes are all very trendy and cool. Although, there aren't many flats - they are mostly heels. But I'm not complaining!

I went to a party last night an these are the clothes that I wore! I wanted to choose something quite bold and sexy but elegant at the same time and I think I pulled it off. I later straightened my hair and did my makeup.

Me and my friend Carys before the party

How to makeup:

1) first I took the Nivea tinted moisturiser in natural and did my usual foundation routine
2) I then got my sleek blusher in flamingo and applied it to my cheeks
3) next I applied three coats of the they're real mascara by benefit
4) I then got Barry M dazzle dust in gold and applied it to the inner corners of my eyes
5) I then got my black pencil liner from accessorize and filled in my water line
6) I then got my scandal eyes liquid eyeliner in black from Rimmel and applied it very close to my lash
line - no wing
7) I then got my Effect 3D lipgloss from bourjois in no. 27 and applied it to my lips

I was going for a very subtle look so that my outfit could speak, if I had done my makeup as bold it would have made me look too over the top.

Carys wore a crop top with 'swag' on the front in bold letters with tights and shorts. She is wearing a Topshop gloss ink in a very deep, bright pink colour. She plaited her hair when wet and then blow dryed. She then took out the plaits and her hair came out VERY big and voluminous, she is very thick hair anyway.  The foundation she is using is the lasting perfection foundation from collection in ivory 2.
